Annual Rally Side Trip # 1
June 19, 2018
Enjoy a grand lunch at the Tippecanoe Place with four main levels totaling 40 rooms and 20 fireplaces. This mansion built for the Studebaker family is the embodiment of everything great wealth in the late 1800’s could suggest. This mansion served as the setting for many lavish parties, weddings, and balls. Today, Tippecanoe Place is known for its hospitality and a gracious setting for fine dining. Take a tour of the Studebaker National Museum where you will admire nearly 70 timeless vehicles including a one of a kind classic like the 1934 Bendix, the 1956 Packard Predictor concept car and President Lincoln’s Carriage. Tour its 50,000 square foot production line and see military trucks and vehicles with state of the art lifts. Located on the same campus we will see the Oliver Mansion, Copshaholm, (makers of the Oliver Plow) along with the artifacts from northern Indiana on a guided tour of this majestic mansion. Then on to Notre Dame where you will experience the mystique of the University of Notre Dame with a student guided walking tour of the beautiful historic campus. This trip will give you insight into the history of South Bend and Notre Dame. Sign up today for this great side trip.
